Matthew Baum (b.1973, Princeton, NJ) is an artist and educator based in Napa Valley, California. He earned a BA in American history from Brown University, studied architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts.  

Matthew has been on faculty at the University of California - Davis, New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He was co-founder and director of the VisuaLife photography education program, working with underprivileged youth in NYC.  

Matthew’s work has been exhibited at venues in the United States and abroad, including CAMRaleigh, Fordham University’s Center Gallery and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library.
